Can you use F-Series bumpers on E-Series vans?

I need new bumpers for my van, but I'm not paying more for Aluminess-style stuff than I paid for my 2WD van. (Besides, while I'm trying to make the van look tough, I'm also trying hard not to look like a 4x4 poseur. It's a rough balance!)

I find lots of bumpers on Craigslist from F-series trucks, but rarely from the vans. Does anyone know if the mount points are the same? I googled around a bit but couldn't find a clear answer.

This may not be much help, but the mounts on a '94 Bronco and a '96 van were the same. The difference was in the location of the front wheel well. I had to trim the end of the bumper when putting the Bronco bumper on the van.
If you (or anyone else) is interested in stock, chrome, front and rear bumpers off an '07 van I have a set. Ya just gotta come and get them. Also have a chrome front Warn bumper off of my '96 van. Also free for the picking up. Located about an hour northwest of Reno, NV.

Call your local salvage yard. They have software that tells them what parts are interchangeable.

The Trailready bumper on my van is for a F series. SMB cut the bumper in two spots to clear the front spring mounts.

Scatter - I don't suppose you have two rear doors for a gray 2005 van sitting around, do you?

Hey Scatter, I'm a sensitive guy. That hurts (even if it is accurate).

Maybe the Forum members should all chip in and buy a parts van to cannibalize! I call dibs on the rear doors! ... and may I recommend a gray van?

Ok, I'm done hi-jacking this thread now.

Scatter, I am interested in your chrome bumpers. Can you tell me if they came with the plastic facia installed? Or are they all chrome with no facia mounting holes in them?

They're sitting out under a couple of feet of snow, so this is from memory, but the front does have the plastic facia and I don't remember the rear having one. Whatever was on the '07s. Got a broken foot what doesn't work well in the snow, so maybe someone else with that year can chip in with what they came with.

I have a step bumper you can have. You just have to pay freight. :a1:

They won't ship that front cover, but that back piece is probably going to be mine soon. My fronts are actually in pretty good shape, so I may just spray paint over the chrome with someone matte finished and have a local welder bend me some simple brush bars to go over the front.

Yep. I missed the no shipping part. Shame.

What is that back thing? :b5:

I *think* it's a back bumper with no step. But I'm not entirely sure. For $100 it's nearly worth buying and figuring out. I found a local guy here in Oregon who can build me a brush guard front bumper from steel tubing, but he seemed sort of drunk when I went and talked to him, so I'm a little skeeved out. I'm down with drinking after hours, but not when one is welding the bumper that's supposed to protect me from elk. :)

Joel ,
You can install an F Series Rear Step Bumper on any of the E Series by changing the Mounting Bracket , you can fabricate your own or purchase from Fey Bumpers . I worked for them years ago and virtually all of the Ford Dealerships would buy their bumpers loose and stock an assortment of year/model brackets . And many would remove the Fey Sticker and sell and charge for the factory bumper at a substantial profit margin .

call aluminess
i am sure he gets them in there
at least he has my front and rears...

also SMB west told me they have front and rears that he sells for $75 each
(i think that is what they quoted)
as i recall they had a ton of them in the shop

I asked Aluminess this question. They said that their F series and E series bumpers are NOT interchangable. Not sure if it's the size, or the mounting locations or both.
