Thanks, Scatter. That is reassuring. Coincidentally, while rummaging in my Ford
owner's manual for some other info, I stumbled on the following, right there in official
black and white:
"
FUEL REQUIREMENTS - CHOOSING THE RIGHT FUEL: VEHICLES
OPERATED WHERE ULTRA LOW SULFUR DIESEL FUEL IS NOT REQUIRED
... [dire warnings about the 6.4L engine, followed by]...
Vehicles equipped with a 6.0L engine that are operated in a market that
does not require ULSD fuel may be operated on higher sulfur fuel
without any engine fuel system or emissions-related concerns.
"
This is from the POWER STROKE OWNER'S GUIDE SUPPLEMENT supplied with my
2010-model-year (actually built in late 2009) Diesel E350.
So, while I'd still love to hear from anyone with a post-2007 Ford Diesel who has
actually driven long distances on Mexican fuel, between your assurances and Ford's
I'm feeling pretty comfortable now!
