Does anyone know how to @-mention a user?

Is that a thing this forum platform can even do? I'd like to be able to mention someone in a post such that they get a notification about it (regardless of whether they're subscribed to that thread or forum).

Nope. You can add it, but it doesn’t do anything. You would need to PM the person.

I think if you quote a user, they get a notification email. QUOTE=<username> in forum markup.

Edit: I don't see an option for that in the user settings. I guess the notifications I've seen are that when I post in a topic I am auto subscribed to that topic. Checking the first post might then auto-unsubscribe you.

So as above, probably the only reliable method is a direct message.
