Anymore know how to kill the daytime running lights on a 2015 E-Series?
I'm switching to Vantage Optics headlights and the DRL's need to go...

Is it as simple as grounding the switch on the parking brake?

2015 ?? or 2014 model year?

I am also very interested in doing this on our 2014. Along with defeating the timer on the interior lights.

I am about to dive into the ForScan world to see what can be done.

In seem to remember that the dealer scan tool is able to turn off that function. I don’t know about foreskan though.

On my 2004, it was just a little plug at the front of the engine compartment. Unplugged it, and bye bye DRL.

I went the other direction (turned on the DRL function) using Forscan with my 2011, so I'm guessing you can activate/deactivate it on a 2014 as well. I'm away from my laptop and van at the moment, but I can look it up later if you're interested.

That would be very appreciated. Thx!

OK, the following assumes you have at least some familiarity with FORScan (http://forscan.org). You will need to have an extended license to change configuration. There's a message that the extended license function was disabled in the US as of 2 days ago due to issues sending funds to Russia; but fortunately, the 2 month free extended license functionality is still working. Be prepared to wait up to 30min for the license key to be generated.

Start by connecting to your vehicle (icon on bottom left of the first screen):

After connecting to your vehicle, select 'Configuration and Programming' on the left, and select the GEM/SJB module. Make sure you choose the one shown, and not the 'As Built' configuration. Then click the Play button ('Run Service Procedure') at the bottom:

From here, select 'Daytime Running Lamp' and choose 'Edit selected' at the bottom. (BONUS: For those interested in enabling 'Dark Mode', disabling 'Welcome Illumination', and/or modifying your TPMS alarm values, they're also changed using this screen.)

This dialog is straightforward:

And Tada! You've either enabled or disabled your DRLs, depending on what you selected.

Don't forget to disconnect FORScan before unplugging your OBD adapter.
Click on the top left 'Vehicle and interface information' icon, followed by 'Disconnect' at the bottom.

Any questions, let me know. :d5:

Thanks for that info. will have to try on my 2009.

Wonder if one is able to delete the speed limiter in that same setup?

Thanks again

Sweet!!! Finally had a chance to get into Forscan and tweak the system to make the changes on our 2014 E350 5.4 Agile CCV.

Disabled the DRL and TPMS since the sensors are toast! Also disabled Welcome and enabled Dark.

Cannot defeat the 15 min interior lights shutdown but I am just going to run power from the house battery to the map lights and rear door entry.

Kibo - directions were perfect, thanks again!

Great, glad to hear it worked well! I think the interior power timeout is non-adjustable, but I'm not certain.
