Why has the edit button been turned off? It would be helpful to be able to edit post.
Thank you

You can only edit your own post for something like one day.

The challenge with allowing people to edit their posts at any time is that some people come in well after posting and start deleting information/pictures, and as replies are made and posts at cross-linked, it would turn this forum into swiss cheese.

As far as I know, this forum has always been this way since Jage created it.

So for changes then just do the old "bump" type post with any new info then?
Thanks Herb!

need to edit my classified listing. Price for 2011 Chevy Express?

If the editing is disabled how can I say lower the price of my listing and some other key info I need to ad but forgot the first time around?

Also. How do I put the title of my listing in bold? I have tried coding for bold using Title here , but no luck.

I would appreciate some opinions on the price I have on the 2011 Chevy express with CO Camper Van pop top. I have had 0 replies and assume that my price at $42,500 is way too high? Although compared to some vans it seems in line.

thanks

Something to consider is that the site takes you to the last post you read. If I'd had read your for sale post that you put up say two months prior, and I read that post and all the replies back then, the next new post you or somebody makes will be where the site takes me. This way you don't have to re-read all the text (sometimes pages) that you have already looked at. So if you edit the first post in the thread, chances are I'd never see the new verbiage...only those who have never clicked on the thread will see the changes.

Herb posted why it's set up this way. But we don't have an issue with editing your first post for you. But even if you do have one of us edit it for you, you'll want to make a new post at the end of the thread about the changes. That way you're fully covered. (edit) Most members simply add another post saying what the new price is. Every time you add a new post it puts your thread back on top of the order showing there is new information in the thread. Hope this helps.

I would like to suggest that the management team rethink the no editing of threads. Not being able to change the price in the title or body of the post is not very conducive to selling an item. It is not like it takes a lot of work to add the edit button, you just need to turn it on in the XenForo options. Most all of the other camping and overlanding forums use the same software and allow editing threads and titles.

To me this is the only drawback from this forum. Everything else that you do is top notch.
