Maybe its not a good time to tell you guys about the surcharge to enter the UJOR booth???

j/k!!!!!! We're busting tail to get ready for this show, really excited. I'll be there every night, look forward to seeing everyone and feel free to come hang out!

Is this the surcharge that must be paid in Scotch? I heard that created quite the undergarment wadding at the pre-meeting meeting.

OK, I begrudgingly spent $90 and am now registered. Looking forward to it!

I think we are going to do the daypass thing on Saturday. Since it is our first time attending, we would like to check it out first before deciding to stay the entire weekend. It is ~3.5 hour drive from our house.

Whatever I decide its going to be last minute. Wait...If I decide right now its last minute??

I've been meaning to PM you Brian, I was thinking you were in for sure. What are you thinking?

Looks like I'll be solo for this one.

Other Brian checking in... I was really was hoping to go, but my son has a cub scout campout weekend that weekend, so I can't.

Update for us:

We'll be there the entire time but since we haven't finished our build we won't be offering any FatMat. Once we're done with it we'll post something. We do have extra Butyl tape so please confirm that you want some before we leave. We're not shlepping any unless we know for sure. We're picking our van up on Thursday so we're dragging everything in a rental car. If you can't make it and need some butyl tape we can work something out. As of right now we will be on the East coast until possibly April then off to the West for Expo in May then North to start the long drive south. There's plenty of time.

Just wanted to update this thread since it's this coming weekend. I'm coming in Friday afternoon and camping two nights. I've got to head back Sunday mid-morning. It'll just be me and my co-pilot Rudy (The Australian Shepard). My wife has given me a generous pass.

I wanted to get a better tally on who's in since it's been awhile. I'm hoping we can group together for camping and I think John and Mandi will be there first so hopefully they'll find us a peaceful, quiet, level, shaded spot. That' not too much to ask is it? :a1: It looks like a huge place so I understand if some folks want to get away from everyone. My preference will be a little bit away from noise, generators and bathroom smells. My dog is silent and totally mellow and I'll have no kids but I would love some company. Any one know about fires/firewood? I can bring some but I need to find out if the occasional fire pit will be doable or if it will be one group fire only. For those of you Westerners reading this, we Eastern folks have the luxury of always having a campfire, so I hope they don't mind us having a few here and there. The weather is supposed to be beautiful and a little cool at night in the mid 40's.

I know there are some day-passers and new members who have mentioned coming. Hopefully you'll come introduce yourselves. I think Tbunch was one at least and I thought there were a couple others.

So far they've been strict about campfires, there will be a designated fire somewhere though.

We've been running wide open 7 days a week getting ready, super excited for the show. I think you'll be able to find us, 6 vans in the booth!

tlg.............added.......thanks

Chris..........thanks, I'll stay tuned.

i can only be there Friday. I haven't decided if I am going to buy a weekend pass for one day. I will be in pigeon forge working Wednesday and Thursday if i get finished Thursday I will come on over if I have to finish Friday I will have to come on home. I will know more Wednesday night. I hope it works out I would really like to meet you guys and see all the cool stuff I can't afford.

Out.....Just finished a 4 day/3 night kayak trip on Sat. I don't think its possible for me to get away with anything more at this point.....

Aw bummer! Sorry to hear it Brian but I understand. You still on for Unwharrie later this month?

Yes, Planning the float and the Mtn Biking for the Rendezvous. Come out and join us!

I think we're slated to be near the vendors so it might not be quiet, could be party central... who knows as we've never been before. I'll scope it out when we get there but I did read that there are central fire pits and ad hoc ones aren't allowed. Kind of sucks but it is what it is. Looks like our list is small, hopefully not a reflection of the overall event.
