I would love to see some different floor plans for a RB Sprinter. I am still in the planning stages. Has anyone done anything unique or unusual. I need a sink refrig, stove micro wave. I am looking at plan #150S.

Don't know what the 150S is. I like the Brian Lopes with bike storage and my brother did a unique build: Gaucho behind the driver, pantry then dual fold down bunks. On the opposite wall all shelves and drawer storage with a full length counter and stove across from the gaucho. It's got more storage than my kitchen and you can toss a football down the aisle. In the very front of the shelves, where they stop at the door he put a 3cf facing forward.

I did a platform bed in the rear of my RB poptop Sprinter. Provides a lot of flexibility and can be completely removed for moving large items. The two platforms can be stacked and create more floor space during rainy days. A little tight around the sink and side gaucho area. Love the bigger refer and still carry a small cooler for beer, drinks, etc.

We did a queen size bed. Our's is the red sprinter on the website. We love it. 10000 miles in 6 mos with most of our nights winter camping. Now that it is warmer, we are realizing why people have awnings!!! We love our Sprinter.

jage,

Any more photos of your bro's rig? Love all the storage in that thing!

Not many, not good ones, but I know we all like the eye candy:

I have been planning my home build and really like the flexibility a platform bed provides. However it looks like the MAX length is 69" at best. Being 5'10" I'm concerned the lack of space to stretch out would make sleeping uncomfortable.

Any thoughts on this?

I don't see why there would be a max lenght, it's made out of components not prefabbed. Just because its not a drag and drop option doesn't mean they won't build one. The big complaint in my brother's family is width, not length.

jage,

Thanks for the photos.

I believe pinecone is refering to the 69" max width if sleeping width-wise in the van...if sleeping length-wise, length isn't an issue.

pinecone,

I too am 5'10" and am going to experiment with both a platform and sofa bed. I think sleeping width-wise will just work for me(I have tried it on another conversion, wasn't too bad). I plan on using 80/20 to make my platform...

Sorry for the confusion. I meant speeping width wise in the van. So the length of the mattress (head to toe) would be a little cramped. I thought of doing the platform idea in the ford/chevy but the platform would have to be kept low b/c the van walls curve in. Which would then reduce cargo space under the platform.
