Ford E-Series Van HID Projector Retrofit lights

If you drive your van at night, you want a pair of these headlights. I got the led version from Scott, and they're as good as he says. Installation is very similar to changing a headlight bulb, very easy.

I was having pretty good luck and satisfaction until one of the corner lights fell apart on the trail. Replaced it with a SpecD Tuning

Hey Scott, I'm getting ready to start a DIY retrofit of some NHK M5 Plus Bi-LED's into stock housings along with some Morimoto Panamera switchback shrouds and their XB switchback turn signals. I also made up some Frankenstein mirrors using the 00-07 Super Duty truck tow mirrors with turn signals that I'm planning on installing Morimoto switchback lights into.

I saw that earlier in the thread you mentioned that the DRL module on these vans doesn't always work properly with your headlights. Will I have issues running my shrouds and front/mirror switchback turn signals as DRL's? I have a 2000 7.3 that's getting a front clip swap to the 08+ front end, so I don't even have a DRL module on my van at the moment. Am I better off rigging up something aftermarket for the DRLs or will the stock module be okay? Thanks!

Mounting those particular projectors in the newer housings will be a challenge to say the least, especially to make them durable since the reflectors are a fiberglass variant that doesn't do well with clamp loads. If you want the shrouds as DRL I'd wire them to a relay switched circuit off the ignition that ignores the DRL module. You'll have to run a turn signal relay optimized for LED turn signal bulbs but that's no big deal.

Thanks for the response, Scott. Yeah, I think I got a little ahead of myself choosing a projector without the threaded shaft - I probably should have gone with the Morimoto MLED's, but here we are. I'll try to post some updates on how this all goes once I get into it in the next week or so. Will I still need a new turn signal relay even with the Morimoto XB bulbs? I thought that their primary appeal was they didn't require one, but clearly I've got no idea what's going on here.

You'll need an LED relay no matter what bulb you run....I've never tested a set that didn't require one. Take caution removing the reflector as well....they are quite delicate and can be a pain if the clips break.

Will do, I really appreciate the advice.

That's odd as I just tried it and it worked fine. Are you using a mobile device or a computer? Sometimes the mobile interface isn't optimized. ]

It must be on my end then. Im using an Iphone V13.3 and an Ipad pro V14.6 but not the latest browser. I hate updates since they always seem to kill features i use. Cheers…
