Fixed... also I removed "Forum Problems" an "Testing" from the rolls, seems more in the spirit that those aren't considered "active".... let me know if that is a good or bad move.

Did the number of posts per page change? I usually try to get 50 to 100 posts per page if a board will allow it. I'm getting like 10 or 15 right now and that drives me nuts. I can't seem to find a setting for it. Is it not configurable on a user level? Is it set by admin and the setting is the same for all users?

Don't know that this is a forum problem just a funny thing happened a couple days ago. Went to login and got the message that I had exceeded my invalid password login attempts limit and I had to now login using captcha. Logged in successfully with captcha and haven't had this happen again.
Didn't know if it was caused by the upgrade or someone is just trying to login as me. No big deal. Just passing it along.

Been happening to me too. It's an attack, the best thing you can do is ensure your password is not simple or easy to guess. The "hackers" get 3 stabs before hitting captcha, so if your password is 'password', '12345' or 'WVvan' you're at risk. Otherwise it's happening all over (many other boards) and annoyance is the worst problem so far.

what about the number of posts per page thing i mentioned above? Has it just always been that way and i didn't notice til now?

Either way, pretty smooth transition overall, i know that can be a pain. Nice job.

I think I have posts per page set to 40 or 50, and I certainly still get more than a screenful. There is a mod for user settable posts per page instead of sitewide, but we didn't have it, and in theory everyone should have been getting the same.

I wonder if it's become canon in 3.0.8 and the modified template isn't supporting the change- still strange that you should be affected and not me. I'll look into it.

I can't say i've taken the trouble to count the number of posts. Some bbs software numbers each post, but i don't think this one does.

There isn't.

Based on the guesstimate of 15, I've found something that could be the problem- how I haven't determined yet, but I set it to 5 so if there is an obvious effect, at least we can determine the source.

For me, it displays as 2 pages. The first page has exactly 15 posts (good guess! )

Ok, so not what I thought, but since we're talking about the same thing now it would be because the server is already taxed by the forum- serving 15/per to several users is already a fair amount- there are 26 users on right now for example. If it's any consolation, it's always been that way.

I can understand that. Bandwidth costs money. Especially since this is a relatively image intensive board and you actually host a lot of the images as well.
