In the past days, we've been working to update the forum to a new software platform and we've been offline. Welcome back! The new forum software is powered by Xenforo and there are some new features and functions. We're still tweaking things so please be patient.

There are many new features and I encourage you to wander around, test things out and then visit your profile and do some updating. Please keep in mind that changes and adjustments are still being made and so views will become more refined over the next few days.

Update your profile:
  • Consider uploading a new avatar (little pic next to your posts). The new site accommodates larger images and old avatars are looking a little tired. Avatars will automatically resize - choose a good one!
  • Update your signature if needed
  • Add a profile banner - larger image that displays on your profile page
  • Review your signature - you may need to update it.

Mobile viewing
The site runs well on small screens. Try it out on the road, and use your regular login - no app required. Set a bookmark for the site on mobile for fast access and look for push notifications (coming soon) to stay up to date.

Thread marking:
The forum remembers what you have already read and will display new unread threads as bolded or when you click into an ongoing thread, takes you to unread content BUT: You may need to Mark a forum "read" for this to work correctly moving forward. The conversion could not "remember" what you have already seen and so initially all threads may appear as unread. To do this, open a forum and look for the link at the top of the list of threads to "Mark Read". Alternatively, use the 'Mark Forums Read' link at the top of the page to mark all.

Classifieds: The classifieds pages are still offline. We have a new classifieds system in the works and it's not quite ready to go live.

There are many things still being tweaked and fiddled with and you will continue to see some changes but we wanted to get back online as soon as possible - thanks in advance for your patience.

Still under construction:

Neat

I successfully used the like button and I responded with a one word response and it let me (edited to add this). Yay.

Looking good and we will get through the teething issues.

What I have come across:

"Jump to new" - there when I I open a thread for the "first" time but disappears on next thread visit. Also does not take me to the newest post of thread but the newest on the current page.

A "preference" I loved was the ability to default load threads in "newest to oldest" order. This was wonderful on especially long threads. I do not see that option in the preferences.

Greetings - THANKS for all the hard work on revisions ! I am not finding the "Subscribe to Thread" button ? Forgive me - I'm at the "old age" stage where I struggle with changes - even on new diapers - Ha ha ! I agree with 1der - above !

You have several options:

On a specific thread you can click the watch button at the top of the thread:

In your profile, you can set your preferences to automatically watch any thread you post to. here's a direct link to your preferences: https://www.sportsmobileforum.com/account/preferences

The "reverse order" for posts to a thread isn't a thing in Xenforo. I also used it heavily but have found that after a little adjusting, I don't miss it so much. The thread marking function in XF is much better and lands me in the right place in the thread - taking up where I left off....

"My Statistics" says I have 7 albums (correct), but I can't find a screen showing pictures sorted by albums. My "Your Albums" displays a screen showing 28 of my pictures, but nowhere can I find a screen listing my 7 albums that then lets me bore down to my pictures sorted by album.

What looks like 28 pics are actually 7 album icons made up of 4 pics from each album. Hover over any icon to see album name and # of pics. Click on icon to open album.

I think it would work better with a single pic representing an album with album name overlay or in text below image.

Did the "Garage" pages not survive the upgrade? These were the short Bio pages for our vehicles. Not a big deal to me, just wondering.

Greetings - have been searching for the "send a private message" - "private message received" option ? Not found yet - ?

Has anyone found a way to get our original names put back on? Looks like many of us have “SMB” tacked onto our handles.
I presume the issue is that there's another "Steve C" (and a "geoffff") somewhere else out there in another of the RV Life forums.
