My wife and son are heading up to Montana for a quick trip and unfortunately I do not want to head up there and help them sell off the belongings of her grandma. So.. I'm thinking of taking a MANcation and throwing fishing rods and the dog in the car and heading somewhere. Any ideas? I don't wanna go to far, but I'd like to be away from home.

Big Bear, Arrowhead are close to you.
Mammoth/June Lake area for some trout fishing.
Baja for some salt water fishing if you dare.
