Rick,
I have a couple of great shots of Lake. PM me and I'll send them to you. Good fun, good food, good people, good time.

Re: Get Together Around Vegas/Southern Utah in September 2010?

Here are a few pics. The camp, Lake and his "house", The view at sunset from camp. We followed Mike into Toroweap expecting the road to be nasty. The road was flat and smooth up until the last 10 miles. On our way out we were able to travel at 45 to 50 mph. Aired down to 40# made it a comfortable ride. Days were hot, near 100 but the nights were wonderful. It's a dusty place but the dust is so fine you don't notice it until you touch a flat surface. This was our first trip with an SMB group. I have to say my wife was was very patient with all of the "truck talk". It would have been nice to have a few more women in the group but after hanging out with Steve and Rob and Mike and Mac I can see why the wives stayed home!!!! Ha Ha.

Mike,

I uploaded my pictures to "My Gallery" on my profile and also put them in the "Galleries" section. I tried uploading some pictures here but it said my files were too large. Don't know why the difference. I will keep playing with it and try to figure it out.

Thanks,

Mac

I would be happy to add my pictures to this site, but I don't know how to do that. I see the photo button on this page and note that it adds [photo][/photo] to the log, but how do I add the actual picture? Sorry, but I am completely computer illiterate unless someone tells me exactly how to do it.

Mac,

If you have a photo in your gallery, it has a number under it. Just put that number between the two [photo] and then hit the preview button. The photo should appear.

Mike

Thanks Mike. You're the go to guy whenever I need an answer. I'll have to try adding the pictures to this site when I have time. Hopefully tomorrow.

Mac....be very careful with those "it's easy just do this" answers...I finally figured out how to post my pics but since I too am illiterate in the fine points of posting I can't remember how I did it!
Best of luck.

Re: Get Together Vegas/Southern Utah in Sept(TRIP REPORT pos

I thought I would try to post a few of my Toroweep pictures here. On the way to Toroweep on Monday, September 20,2010 I stopped in Mesquite next to this Westfalia. I felt quite superior in my Sportsmobile [photo:10v0ey9a]11171[/photo:10v0ey9a].

Then I met up with Steve at the Clayhole Road outside Colorado City, Az to drive in together to Toroweep. Sitting next to his 4X4 Sportsmobile made me feel small in by 4X2 van [photo:10v0ey9a]11172[/photo:10v0ey9a]

Heading in to Toroweep on the dirt road. [photo:10v0ey9a]11173[/photo:10v0ey9a]

The road in wasn't bad at all. Easy to do in my two-wheel drive. Could have done all except the last 10 miles in my car. Stopped to rest our rears and take pictures. Picture is of Steve and Robert. We didn't know we were only about a mile and a half from the campground. [photo:10v0ey9a]11177[/photo:10v0ey9a]

The last ten miles to the campground were rough, but not so bad that my two wheel wouldn't have made it. That is if I hadn't driven directly into the big rock about 300 feet from camp. After that the others broke out the margaritas. In the picture are l-r are Steve, Rick, Chris, Mike, Ruth, Alex and Robert. [photo:10v0ey9a]11181[/photo:10v0ey9a]

Great picture of Rick, Steve and Chris' Sportsmobiles all lined up. How beautiful is that? [photo:10v0ey9a]11184[/photo:10v0ey9a]

Ok Mac, it is mostly working.

What is with the photo inserts that have a / before the word 'photo'?

Next time put the description under the picture, instead of beside it and the pictures will all line up on the left of the screen.
