Well, since I am home recovering from the flu I figured I might as well do a trip report on our most recent short trip.
After going past the Horseshoe Canyon area many times on our way to the Robbers Roost area we decided to finally stop and check it out. We arrived in the late afternoon in a steady 30mph cold wind. Needless to say we cooked and ate inside the SMB that night.
In the morning we awoke to a chilly, clear and calm day. We decided to take a hike on down into Horshoe Canyon to see the various rock art sites. After we arrived back at the trailhead we found we had several new neighbors. I thought I recognized the vehicles from posts on expeditionportal.com . We met them after they had finished their hike. Very nice folks!!
Our spartan campsite at the trailhead
The next day we headed towards the White Roost fork of Robbers Roost Canyon to do some more exploring.
White Roost:
After our hike we got back in the van and headed to the end of the road and our campsite for the evening. This spot overlooks Robbers Roost canyon and the Dirty Devil River. We were suprised in the morning by people base jumping from a cliff on the other side of the river! I even found their video here: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=44c_1255222161 go to about 4:35 into it. Crazy!

Just a short backyard trip but great fun for sure, except for the mouse in the van!
