Our Kisae DC to DC charger has started turning itself off for no apparent reason. It has been running correctly on both shore and alternator power since it was installed in 2021 and has started doing this for the last month or so. Both the house and stater batteries are fully charged. I have to restart it using a jumper but after a little while it shuts itself off again. Any ideas why this would be happening?

Am thinking of replacing it with a Renogy 12V 30A DC to DC Charger with MPPT input.

Any error codes on KISEA panel?
Is your house battery Lithium? if so are you sure the BMS is not resetting? The KISEA is not operational if not connected to voltage on the house side. I assume when you say jumper it to turn it on means your shorting house 12 volts to starter 12 volts. This would effectively be bringing a Lithium BMS back to life.

I was getting an E04, low input voltage shutdown, error. Measured the voltage at 12.7 volts. The battery is an SOK 100 amp lithium. The Kisae is set to charge a lithium.

To turn the Kisae back on I followed the instruction manual and connected my adjustable power supply to the solar input side, channel 2, and shorted across to the battery side, channel 1.

Hooked the battery up to the shore power charging system over night and brought the battery voltage up to 13.5 volts. Restarted the Kisae using the same method as above. After it was running I removed the short out wire and let it run of the adjustable power supply, on channel 2, for a bit. In this configuration the Kisae would go into float mode, FUL displayed.

I then disconnected the power from channel 2 and the Kisae immediately turns off again. Battery voltage measures 14 volts at the battery terminals. Channel 1 voltage from the battery measures 4.5 volts. The voltage is 14 volts at the fuse between the battery and channel 1.

Next I started the van to see if the Kisae would stay running. Measured 14.5 volts on channel 3, van generator. Shorted across channels 1 and 2 like above. As soon as I removed the short out wire the Kisae turned off.

Basically it looks like the Kisae is not reading the house battery voltage.
