2011 6.8 v10. Did ford use different radiators for the 6.8 vs the 6.0.
You also state. “ I believe this radiator provides a little better cooling capabilities than the OEM radiator “
Does it really provide a significant amount of difference?
I had been fighting heat temps (oil, coolant, and trans) since I bought the van back in 2015, and have gone through several versions of the aluminum radiators. Blew the bottom seam on the first 2 (first one was a year after install and second lasted 2yrs) and have had no issues with the Mishimoto (plus comes with a lifetime warranty).
To answer your other question concerning effectiveness; I had the Mishimoto radiator installed at the same time as the Mishimoto low temp thermostat, so hard to tell which helped most…BUT, the combination reduced my temps (oil and coolant) by about 12 -15 degrees. After those mod’s I also installed an auxiliary trans cooler (Derale Hypercool) which drastically helped trans temp, which in turn also helped the coolant & oil another couple degrees.
Flat surface freeway travel at 65 to 70mph coolant & oil temps started out around 217 coolant & 221 oil, now they run 199 coolant & 205 oil. Huge difference for my obese 11,800lb rig. I would assume similar results could be accomplished with a gasser.
EDIT: I also run a 5-Star 40 or 50hp tune, but in those tunes they also programmed the engine fan to engage about 7 or 8 degrees earlier than the initial OEM parameters - more for long steep climbs as well as slow crawls (when little air moves through the radiator), and this paired with the rest has removed my temp anxiety.
