MBRP exhaust

Has anyone ran this cat back system on an e350 6.0 or 6.8? I need to update my exhaust and the banks stinger system is out of my budget. I was just wondering how loud the system is and it’s got an annoying drone to it.

Haven't heard that system. I put a Flowmaster 70 series big block muffler on my 6.8, with the stock pipes. Zero drone, and the only time I can hear it is if I'm on the gas.

Anything is less restrictive than the stock muffler on these.

For the diesels pretty much any of the turbo-backs or cat-backs will sound the same, get the cheapest stainless one you can. I have a no-name chinesium one that was originally for an F250, I moved some hangers around and made it work and we are rocking and rolling. I dont have a muffler and made a downpipe to get as close to a full 4" turbo back as I could, sounds great.

I have had a MBRP on my 7.3 F350 since about 2007. It's showing it's age and should probably be replaced in the next couple years, but still no holes and always sounded good to me. I feel for the money it was an exceptional value and would definitely buy one again. I do have a muffler, no cat. 4" turbo back. No drone.

I had a similar exhaust system on my 1995 Cummins. What looks like a "muffler" is actually nothing more than a resonator that (barely) changes the tone of the exhaust note. It's basically a straight pipe with some holes in it to tune the sound. Quiet it is not.

If the van still has a catalytic converter, then it might not be too bad, but I can say with some confidence it will definitely be louder than the stock system by a fair number of dB. My 95 Cummins 12V was a turbo-back system. That truck was freakin' loud... I'm sure my neighbors loved it when I drove that truck to work leaving at 5AM...

We have one on our 7.3 no issues, was extremely affordable when we purchased.
