Took some friends and trips to the desert. Plenty of trails, mines, and places your not supposed to be in!

That's awesome.. yeah i wanna know where that is... that tanks just sit around like that.

I would have taken my Geiger counter and EMF detector :b1:

Most of the trip was south of fallon Nevada which is about 60 miles from reno. The photos at night are on a ACTIVE bombing range!

helicopter running the perimeter before f-18's came in for practice! During the week is the best time to go. If the lights are on at night someone is heading in for practice! I have the gps for a road that will get you next to the base but do so at your own risk. Me and my friends would never do something so foolish!(I dont even know where those photos came from come to think of it)

Project Shoal is more east of Fallon near sand mtn, the map labels it as Dept of Energy, The road from the bombing range will also take you there.

The daytime photos of tanks are in Dixie Valley also east of Fallon , and as far as I know are ok to go look at

185* !!! Found this hot spring just takeing a dirt road on a whim

Dang, how do you do that without getting "talked" too?

We run Bradshaw trail out here that runs along the live bombing range and if you go 10 feet into it, they know about it.

Very interesting. Yep, you must have connections or be very stealth. When I ride dirtbikes out by Fort Irwin there is NO WAY anyone can stray into an off-limits area. If you don't notice the big fence, you will notice the MPs approaching at full speed.

The order of your photos makes it look like you climbed down that mineshaft into a secret underground military base with tanks and bombs!

Can you share GPS coordinates?

The tanks are at the far right of the base, they are also scattered in the sand mountain behind the base. In the middle is a garage? and a office building that someone in a white truck goes to at around 7:eek:o in the morning every time im out there. If you go do it at night or before 7am! At night there should only be 2 red lights from towers at the border of the base, if you see any white lights dont go.
The GPS for the road going in is ??*??'??.?? N ???*??'??.??" W off of Hwy95 20 miles south of Fallon
The Tanks at Bravo 19 are ??*??'??.??' N ???*??'??.??" W
Project Shoal is ??*??'??.??" N ???*??'??.?? W
Gps Numbers are all approximate

Google Dixie valley, Bravo 19, project Shoal and Bravo 20 for some info on the net.

Joanna , I think the flower is a type of paintbrush?

You might be right, maybe it IS a paintbrush. The purple is so arresting. Damn it all, my Western ID books are in California. Well, I'm off to GardenWeb to figure it out.

Just like a girl! Bombs, tanks, secret underground military complex and you're looking at a flower! :a2:

So, ah, anyone wondering about those GPS coordinates- lets keep it to email and PM please. Keep in mind that anyone in the world can read this site without signing up, and it goes to google and all that. Normally I wouldn't edit, but since the accessiblity and purpose of the facilities is questionable...
