Well i decided to end my Chinook journey in the interest of a newer vehicle. Like everyone my physical agility and motivation has taken a sharp decline of the last couple of years, that said i decided to stop on my chinook build and purchase a rig that needs nothing in terms of repairs.

I purchased this 2021 Mercedes Sprinter 3500 AWD dually with 1400 miles on it with the v-6 3.0L diesel engine. My plan is to purchase an enclosed trailer to pull behind it. I will put a small kitchen and a toilet and a shower in the trailer versus modifying the van interior. I plan to install a partition in the van so i can keep my dogs seperated when we travel, maybe throw a twin or full size bed in it in the back, some kind of non slip flooring so the pups dont slip and slide during stopping and corning. Toss in a couple of orthopedic dogs beds and call it good. I may have to install a rooftop A/C unit as well becaus eim not certain at this point how cool the front A/C will keep the cargo area.

Shes nothing fancy but it suits my immediate needs....

The passenger vans came with a top rear mounted a/c for that reason. No idea what it would take to add one on but there's probably a handful for sale.

Nice find on a 144 dually. Especially with 1400 miles. It's still got a few bells/whistles judging by the buttons that are visible.

Also, worth noting that Benz just released an extended warranty on the EGR for 15yr/150k miles for the V6.

Am sure the rear AC would be appreciated by the canines ! In the interim - maybe an evaporator cooler until a decision on the AC ? Good luck - you deserve some "good things" in your life based on all the family health issues !

Im just guessing that one of those 12 volt AC is the only realistic option in my particular case.

I don't since I have the 4 cyl, but it's all over the sprinter forums/groups. Looks like it was a letter in the mail. Worth noting that it's the 2019-2022 years only.
Can you post some of the more popular forums for the sprinters? The only one im on at this time is sprinter-source.com

Think you were looking for roof mount AC for a Sprinter ? Maybe check out the "Velit" roof AC ? Seems to remember it's light weight - can't remember the BTU's though ? Good luck !
