Thanks for having me. I'm a welder/fabricator and a 4x4 mechanic. I'm also a new owner of a 2000 2wd E350 5.4 with a 3" lift and transmission issues. The price was right and my gf was able to drive it home, so I'm hoping it's a good start for a budget 4x4 conversion.

I can make a lot of m own parts and my boss has a 2007 V10 F350 4x4 with a bad motor that I can buy for cheap for a parts donor. I'm hoping the transmission from the F350 will suit the 5.4 as I believe they both have the 4R100. If so I will use the cash I save on the transmission rebuild for a proper rear driveshaft and transfer case shift linkages.

I think by 2007 the v10 had gone to the 5r110. The front axle and suspension is all the same though.
