Great pics... I sooooooo want to do that.

If I get the opportunity some time, would you mind if I hit you up for planning and wisdom learned?

Fast Eddy's in Tok! Good place... I've eaten there several times. Do you live in Alaska?

Great Grizzly photo, too. Amazingly close.

Wow! Great bear pics. Post some more and thanks for sharing!

Hey ctb,

Is it you I saw at the Yukon Crossing, along the Dalton? We stopped there for a small lunch and saw you just when we were leaving towards North, taking a picture of VivaLaVida. We stopped at Finger Rock, hoping you to stop too but you didn't... It shouldn't be so much dark blue Sportsmobile on the Dalton... :a3:

Hope you enjoyed your trip. Did you went up and down to Alaska driving or did you took the ferry?

Have to open some VivaLaVida's Alaskan journey trip report soon.... :b1:

Thanks for the comments SMB'rs! Very fun trip with most of the wildlife sightings on the Dempster (Canada's haul road). It was desolate and awesome. Tried the Cambell HWY to get over to Carmacks, Yukon, skip it! The gold miners have beat it to he#$, and there were no wildlife sightings, or good photo op either. Every road in AK except over to Manly…Hiked up Exit Glacier, stopped by Mossy's Seaside Farms (stayed in one of her cabins in '08, a MUST if in Homer, sister of the Kilcher's on TV) a kinda 'hippy' place, but AWESOME! We saw Northern Lights in Anderson, AK one night, and an hour N. of Fairbanks on the Dalton a second night. Camped just N of Coldfoot, and later on the other side of the Brooks Mt. range on the Dalton. Not much 4x4 needed, but lots of gravel, dirt, and dust….which keeps the cars and campers away! E-mail me SMB Bro's if you want to ask any questions, etc….Live in Iowa, so anywhere else is a great visual experience!

Saw PSchitt (crazy name bro!) coming over the Yukon River Bridge…new to this so I should have stopped! Drove the whole way 11K + miles…notice the black bear walking down the road as we were having morning coffee!

Re: North-NWT, Yukon, Alaska Dempster & Dalton

I've driven to Alaska twice from the East Coast (in my old Isuzu Trooper, not SMB unfortunately). Great drive and should be done at least once.
