OK... so now that the Longhorns have made it to the CWS, it looks like I need to plan a trip to Omaha.

Anyone have any suggestions on places to stay or places to see in and around Omaha Nebraska ??

Fremont has a State Park, Fremont Lakes SP ($11-15) . Noisy and crowded on weekends, but not too bad. Across the river is Wilson Island State park($6-11) in Iowa (there's that word again!). Both are going to be busy on weekends and about 30-60 minutes away.

There is a KOA in West Omaha if that is more nto your liking. But, most campgrounds close in are full for the CWS.

Good Luck,

Mike

For the first 24 hours here I could not figure out what that familiar smell was..... roadbase? No
...mud? No. ...pollen? No....

WAIT ! I am down wind from the Zoo ! you know that wet hay smell with a hint of manure ??? Yep, that was it !

I found a relatively quiet spot within waslking distance of Rosenblatt where I am alone after the night game crowd leaves..... and it is $5 a day.

The Horns are off until Friday after winning their first two games, and there is only one game each of the next two nights in the evening, so I may have to get out and explore.

3 more wins for a National Championship.
