Other campervans to rent and test before deciding on an SMB

Van Rentals

That's a good list. Lots of people looking to rent before a purchase. Over the years I've noticed links to articles sometimes go out of existence. Here is some info on Rentals (most are also in your link):

I'll put in a plug here for Opt Overland. We rented Magilla, and it convinced us to buy and build our own transformer-style van.

Metris Van rentals

Jetti.co (now getnomad.com) is another company that rents the SMB converted Metris Mercedes Vans. They are in SF (Treasure Island). When I visited the Fresno facility this Summer 2017, they had 20 pop top Metris orders to deliver.

Safari Condo XL Flex Sprinter 4x4

Durango RV Rentals is now renting a Safari Condo XL Flex on the Sprinter 4x4 chassis:

https://durangorvrentals.com/class-b-sprinter-vans/

The XL Flex features an adjustable height rear bed that provides flexible gear storage/sleeping configurations. Looks perfect for interior bike storage.

I've seen SMB builds with open gear storage below the platform bed, but I don't think SMB offers the adjustable height option.

More XL Flex build options/details at the Safari Condo site:

Oh, that's a great one, thank you! I'm actually thinking about buying a van. However, before purchasing one, I would like to rent one and see if it fits me. My wife wants to get a native campervan, and it's the most comfortable one. While I think it's too dull. I want something like a wandervan or maybe a vintage surfari wagon. We are going on a trip through Ukraine soon. There we'll be looking to rent a classic campervan - I think it will be a Volkswagen multivan.
