Cheryl and I spent last week (April 12 - April 18) in Death Valley N.P. We came in from the south end via Saratoga Springs road.
We have spent a lot of time in DVNP sense the 1990s but have never seen the tourist things. We went from Ashford Mill to Scotty's Castle. Titus Canyon to The Racetrack to Lippincott Road and of course Saline Valley hot springs and never paid to park at night. The only place we paid to park was Red Rock State Park after our first day of travel.
We were amazed at the beauty of everything in the park. These are places I have read about sense I was a child.
I was happy with our fuel milage. Overall we went 1482 miles and we averaged 14.2 m.p.g. That's including some four wheeling.
No problems with our SMB, everything worked great.
I have rebuilt our website (beckersminerals.com) to post our travels. Yesterday I uploaded several hundred pictures of our trip.
As always, I am really happy I found this forum. It's nice to be a part of it.

Nice photos, they make me want to pack up and head out right now! In one of the photos it looks like Ubahebee/Racetrack road was recently graded. That would be awesome.

In your Lipincott album I believe this is the corner that you are referring to. The pic doesn't do it justice!

Saline,

That's the one!
The Racetrack road was all washboard, if it was recently graded they forgot to cut out the washboards.
