I have told this story a hundred or seven times about how/when we saw our 'first Sportsmobile'...We used to travel/sleep in Acura MDX's when we were young and starting out.

The 4x4 (lol) it had was enough to get us most places to tent camp in the middle of nowhere. We were heading down/descending into a Colorado town on a mountain road (dirt, lane and 1/2, 4000+/- foot drop off one side, rock other...just after an overhang of rock-just tall enough to let trucks/van under, we saw a white 4x4 van coming up the mountain...in awe, we both shout "that's it!". The dream vehicle we had talked about actually existed...AS we passed each other with a couple inches clearance on each side, we see the black Sportsmobile logo.. immediately when we had internet access (2011 so when we got home lol)we looked it up, planned, rest is history, BUT...

I can't remember what city we were descending into; Telluride, Aspen, ?...anyway, wondering from all you adventurers, does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance and happy Sunday to you all!

Camp Bird Mine Rd. coming down into Ouray from Yankee Boy Basin? Some memorable overhangs there, description certainly sounds about right.

That is IT! Scotty, always a reliable source! Thanks you Scotty! KTG immediately reminded me we were camping in the mountains for a few days and needed showers etc...we went to the Ouray Hot Springs for sd comfort...exactly 86S!

Welcome. That spot is unforgettable. That area is unforgettable! I can't seem to get to Colorado without a visit there.
