Install 2015. Replaced under warranty 2020 by sportsmobile west. They failed to address the original issue which was attachment to roof in corners. Have rotten wood again. es could be replaced and will need to with new install anyway. But I simply want to change to hardtop instead

Other issues—Some trouble with zipper sticking but otherwise in excellent condition.

Reason selling—Tired of having the pop-up so going with hard top instead. Just Moved to Pacific NorthWest so rain and mold an issue. Don’t want to have to worry about it even when parked in my driveway.

Will be having a company in Portland remove top so can be picked up from there. PM me if interested

Same issue with the top

Have a 2105 installed by SMBW Fresno and year 3.5 it developed a leak through where the solar wires entered the van. It warped the bed, probably rotted a lot of wood, etc. I was told it was out of warranty since they no longer warrantied the tops from leaking. It was just over 3 years at the time. I decided to dry it out the best I could, paint the bottom of the bed, and seal the leak from the solar wires and called it good. I have had nothing but issues with the top to be honest but am curious how you got them to replace it for you? Thanks for any help.

I understand your situation. In hindsight now, I realize I got lucky that they even fixed it. Currently, I found out that even though they replaced it in 2020 I’m still having the same problems with rotted wood. I also just found out that they never put the compression valve on the shower and so my entire underneath has been ruined. I have to take off the top and gut the van and they are not covering any of it. In fact, they would not even return an email other than saying they could get me in for a service at cost

My best guess as to why they replaced it in 2020 was due to the fact that it was still under warranty, and Peter said that I had so many problems with the top. The wood had actually buckled up in the corner and came away from the van. It was so bad. Also the zippers would no longer open on two of the sides. I had complained about the zippers many times, but when I sent a picture of the wood coming away from the van in the front, I think that’s when they decided to fix it. Probably because it created a driving hazard. At the time, I thought they just took care of things that went wrong now I understand that is not necessarily the case. When they built my van, I thought they did quality work, but I’m seeing that’s not so either. Nor do they necessarily stand behind it, and unfortunately, although some people have good luck with their top, they seem to be prone to leaks and rotted wood.

So I’ve decided I have no choice, but at my cost to my put on a new hardtop, gut the van and rebuild. Although that top is still in good shape, except for the wood, that would need to be replaced anyway if somebody bought it, I have no more patience for the penthouse. I’m going with the fiberine hardtop.

In summary, I can totally feel your pain. Technically, if it’s still under warranty, they’re supposed to replace it. But that’s all I know.
