I have a 2001 SMB RB50. Since I purchased this SMB used in 2009, repeatedly every couple of years, a small patch of dark mold has appeared in the interior of the pop-top's sidewall on the driver's side back corner.

Amendment to the same small patch, I would remove the mold by lightly washing with Dawn Dishsoap, 10 parts water, and 1 part vinegar.

However, over time, this mold amendment has caused this small canvas patch is become slightly rough to the touch.

How can I amend this patch's roughness and while making it less susceptible to mold?

Thank you

Maybe some soap and vinegar residue? If just, that rinse with water. Perhaps the vinegar (acid) has affected the fabric texture, what you have is likely what you get..That acid residue should prevent the mold....Maybe someone is knowledgeable about the actual fabric and treatment chemistry? Keeping it dry is the best thing, but if parked outside in Seattle that can be a challenge..Don't know if this helps, but many have had a repeated mold problem due to leaks (thru bolts for instance).

Maybe try a bit of hydrogen peroxide - diluted - 3 parts water to 1 part hp - let it dry and reapply again at 3 to 2 - repeat, etc. Brush with soft paint brush -
