Post edit and PM disappeared?

I posted my PETT toilet and immediately got a PM.

I edited the ad and marked the subject SOLD and then returned the PM. Never heard back, went looking today and there is no record of a PM to the buyer. And yesterday I had to remark the ad "SOLD" because apparently that didn't save or got rolled back.
