Hi, i wan´t to increase my water autonomy, i have 4 to 6 days (family of 4), we only use the water for doing dishes, hand washing and showers, not for drinking or cooking.
I never considered reverse osmosis as an option becouse of the high amount of rejected water and hi power consumption, i understand that now there are systems that only reject half of the water and i have more solar power captabilities.
I came across a german product that puts that rejected brine back in the gray water tank and according to them you can pass the water 10 times before needing to dump it and put fresh water on it.
I understand that it would mean a much shorter life on the filters and membrane, but these days they are not so expenssive and a way better option than running out of wayer in the desert!
Has anyone done it with a small house RO system with a pump and a UV light?
Would it be safe to do dishes or pots and them cook on them with bottled water?
Since i´m not drinking it i could even put some chlorine on the tank just to be safe.
I´m thinking of doing it with water from the batroom sink and kitchen sink, on the shower i would rather do a recirculating shower, do the 4 showers with the same water and then dumping it (chances are i´m going to be last with that water!!!) also with a UV light and filters.
What do you guys think os that idea?
I have seen videos where people with recirculating showers complain about filters getting blocked by shampoos and detergents, any way arround those issues?
Thanks.
