just got a Ford E350 v.6 sportsmobile, 2006 and in pristine condition... in the maritime provinces (Canada) - and looking forward to my first road trip next week :) And will be reading through forums here for all the advice!

limits of my knowledge :)

thanks for all the welcomes! and it is a diesel, and all the paperwork says E350... it's a penthouse manual pop-up--which i find heavy to lift. i've been spending some time on all the forums here and the kinds of workarounds for that that folks have tried (i'm clearly not the only person who finds it heavy, i've discovered!)

thanks...I read through all their suggestions too. something to look into over the winter for sure... for now, the ratcheting cargo bar idea works great! hitting the road with that :)

hmmm......that's a water carrier.......not sure how that relates to the PH roof....

AnnB: It's quite likely that the roof springs need to be tightened/adjusted.....assuming it comes down way easier (perhaps too fast) than it goes up. Is there anything on the roof? Rack/storage box? Solar?

..and welcome to the forum......we have endless suggestions to spend your $$ here so hang on to your wallet. :D

so just finished over three weeks of travelling around in that (not so new anymore) Sportsmobile :) put several 1000 kms on her, and she is great! so much fun... the ratcheting cargo bar works great to lift the penthouse (but will look into the springs too- when i stop using it for awhile :)) Anyhow, i'm sure i'm not saying anything you all don't already know about these vans -- but i'm really liking having one!
