I changed out the rear floor covering in my tan interior to charcoal, looks good.

1. Anyone here installed new molded carpet in front cockpit area? Looking for a source- plenty of online suppliers but can’t tell the quality

2. Is the general preference here vinyl flooring (cockpit area)?
If so please name your source for molded vinyl floor, thanks. (The answer may very well be the junkyard!)

I redid the front carpet a few years ago with indoor/outdoor carpet in stock at HD. After removing the seats, old carpet and cleaning up, I put down dynamat, then a layer of dynapad and then laid the new carpet in using spray adhesive. I cut the new piece using the old as a template.
There’s also bedrug, I think they have the front cab carpet.

I put in new molded carpet from StockInteriors.com a few months ago. Here is the link to that post.

I hope that link works, otherwise you can scroll down in my thread to that installation.

So far we are happy with the carpet. We should have ordered the floor mats at the same time. It’s a lot easier to shake the dirt out of mats than to brush or vacuum the carpet.

Hey All, I missed these replies after I posted in April- doh- thanks very much for the info. Pics of the carpet look GREAT, CTHAN and I appreciate hearing your procedure REF!
I remember now, I realized I needed to spring for some bodywork and have a seam under the front panel repaired (below the windshield) to seal a leak before installing cockpit flooring. DONE except I STILL have slight seepage after some rains. Maddening.

Currently $pending on steering.... Funny but HellBetty looks essentially the same, even tho I keep spending money$ on her! I do love her tho
Also would prefer to avoid pre-mold as the funny guy REF mentioned. Eowh!

I had seeping coming in from somewhere under the driver side that soaked the carpet every time we got a good rain. I thought it was the dreaded seam issue discussed a while back, wasn’t looking forward to trying to access that to fix. Anyway, it turned out to be water chasing a few wires coming through the rubber grommet in the footwell, a good dose of caulk sealed it up.

The factory vinyl floor is about $420 new through Ford.

I have a vinyl front floor from a '13 in very good condition (van had 23k when I took it out). Has a hole in where the shifter goes (Quadvan...probably close to where a Quigley shifter is).
