SMB Group Meeting - Grand Canyon

Nice! Down to the river and back in a day is no small feat for any age :l1:

It took a guy that hiked out of my river trip this month take 8 hours to hoist himself up the Kaibab Trail.

Wat to go Mike!!!! Well done. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Wish I could have been there with you. But I'm glad I came home when I did because I had a whole list of "Honey Do's" to complete when I got home. It took me five hours to get back to Vegas from Zion. I was in backed up traffic for two hours on I-15 due to the road being reduced to one lane because of construction. That was not a lot of fun.

My wife and I visited the South Rim of the Grand Canyon a couple of years ago for the first time. I remember it being a long, long way down to the bottom and back up the other side. No matter which side you start from! Wow, congratulations for hiking it in one day.
Good way to celebrate a birthday.

Happy Birthday Mike!

Don (dig255) camped next to me. We had a great visit and a nice campfire. Don has a new rig (no plates yet) and is trying to wear it out. Among other things he has satellite and a 37" TV. We could have watched the Giants game 7 victory from the campfire, but he couldn't get a signal. Still he was kind enough to tell me the score in the morning.

I know the only won because I wore my Giants jersey all day and generated a great deal of positive energy from fans at the Grand Canyon! If you believe that, I can sell you a nice bridge.

Talked to the rangers at the campground and told them I don't move my van while I'm camped; so since I had to to move and I was going to leave. They refunded 4 days camping fees and I'm back at Zion for a couple days - then onto home.

Dang, if I could I'd head back up to Zion and spend some more time with you. But it's my birthday Friday and my mother is coming down from Wyoming so I probably should be here when she gets here. Have a safe trip home!

So he replaced his tv? He cracked the display at hungry valley a few weeks ago.

It was only a scratch it buffed out just fine! Actualy I got Costco to replace it.

Nice to meet you Mike, thanks for the nice fire. You must be wearing out your jersey, the Giants are up 2 zip.

Since I've been wearing the jersey, they haven't lost! That's 5 games in a row that I wore it (it is due to be washed) and the series is over!

Not even the most rabid Giants fans would have predicted a sweep of the Tigers.
