TapaTalk problems

hi

have used tapatalk alot

suddenly it is telling me:

you have either entered an invalid username/password, or your adminstrator
has restricted access via tapatalk

i AM using correct user and password


tried deleting tapa account and making new one
still same deal

using iPhone 4g, recently synched and updated

anyone else having problems??

I have the same error as BW. (Fails to pass the password challenge)
Iphone version is 4.2.1
I am able to log into the Expedition Portal site.

Exactly the same for me, same iPhone version and able to log in to EP

I have v4.2.1 as well on a 3GS, and as I said, no problems with SMB4UM.

probably an update issue, keep reporting your results, it's going to be a tough upgrade if we go that route.

The forum is highly customized so patching up the software to keep up with tapatalk's constant upgrades is tricky. It's like a highly customized old Jeep with a diesel swap from an out of state Landcruiser, and California comes along and says "you've got to add this, just plug it in". It might work great, but it might break all kinds of things.

The difference is a few hundred people a day are driving the forum, so I'm hesitant to upgrade it when I don't have time to then fix it.

The difference is a few hundred people a day are driving the forum, so I'm hesitant to upgrade it when I don't have time to then fix it.

No biggie for me. I have been using the Iphone native browser lately with good results. Viewing photos with tapatalk was always an iffy thing anyway. Half the time they worked, the other half was just a blank image.

Both the forum and tapatalk have been upgraded to the latest. Please let me know if this fixes the problems.

Note: I don't expect it to, however the board needed updating anyway. If it doesn't work I have another idea of what the problem is.

just tested
lets me log in, but deneys access due to too many attempts
wants me to do the "CAPTCHA below"
which i susspect is one of those deals where you write in a word
from a jumble type deal

EXCEPT there is no place to do that.........

I found a solution sort of. The other day I cleared my browser of all history and cookies on my pc and when I went to log back into the forum, it asked me to solve a captcha, which I did. Then I tried my tapatalk from my iphone and I was able to login without answering a captcha.

Not sure if it's something you did or if it was from solving the captcha on my pc. The captcha was never visible from my iPhone.

For the same effect without clearing history you may try:

1. in browser, log out of forum
2. close all browsers and open new one
3. log in with username affected and junk password (just pound forehead on keyboard for maximum effect)
4. repeat until forum asks you to also solve captcha
5. enter correct password and solve captcha
6. log in with tapatalk, hope it doesn't ask for captcha
