Greetings! I have a Chevy Express that I use as a kind of stealth camper while traveling for work. I finally bit the bullet and started making some big changes. Found y'all while hunting for the elusive perfect crossbars. Wish me luck!

Welcome. Luck will have nothing to do with your progress; time and resources will get you to the finish line…which will never be in sight! We can’t help you with the ‘time’ factor, but lot of experienced members will help you spend every dime you have, and worth every penny when you get out on the road.

Welcome.

I actually have some Yakima bars/mounts that work on rain gutters that I would give away. Where are you?

Also, any Thule or Yakima rain gutter mounts should work.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm doing a dandy job of spending a ton already. :b5: At least, my husband would say so. I just got it back from the paint shop. I couldn't do with the "chevy peeler" vibe. I was loosing sheets of paint like dander. Next project is encapsulating all the wiring. Bleh.

Thanks! I got the bars on last night. I was suprised. They were not branded on the ebay listing, hence my uncertainty. But when they arrived. They were well packaged and vantech brand. Not bad for $170. I haven't gone out to listen to the road noise yet. It might blend with the tires and the stubborn leaf noise I can't find.

If you experience wind noise from the crossbars, consider this fix:

Sheesh, cannot believe I started that thread 20 years ago  Still works!!

So, "whistle" would be an understatement. That noise is a war crime. It sounds like a helicopter hovering over me from 42mph and up. I'm going to wrap the front bar and see if that helps. I'm debating between paracord or prusik cord. Might try each. What I don't have is something low key or black. I do think the clamps are making noise too. Might be time to get creative.

Thank you for the link and advice.
