Hello, maybe some of you already know us. We are a German couple with a 7.3 E350 4x4 sports vehicle and travel a lot. We took our beloved VanGO on a 5-year journey through Africa and the Arabian Peninsula until Corona stopped us. By the way, I bought VAnGO over 12 years ago from a very friendly guy I met on this forum! We are now about to start a one-year trip through Canada and the USA and we would be happy to meet some people from this forum. If you see us out there don't hesitate having a chat with us even if our English isn't that perfect ;-). Also we would be extremly happy to get some insider tips for remote beautiful spots in the nature.
Dani & Didi

That's exciting...I'm sure anyone here would would enjoy meeting up if those star's happen to align; Your stories would compliment any campfire!
Obviously you're planning ahead, do you have any itinerary of sorts already established?

Exciting next phase!

If you get to Southern California maybe we can setup a van camping trip with some fellow members like the old days. Let us know where you will be and when you are coming. Would be fun to meet up if it works!

we start end of Juli in Canada-Halifax. No plans because we learnt that it is much easier to travel without it :n5:, but the weather will show us the way as we dont like cold and rain so much.

:b5: that sounds great, we let you know as soon we are in that area:d3:

Awesome. Totally agree about plans and schedules.

I plan on heading west from Virginia (VA) to Montana on 21 Juli to meet a couple guys and then we head north to Tuktoyatuk Canada. Expect to get back to VA by 23 September.

Sounds like you will stay north for now and head south for warmer weather when it gets cold.

Let me know if you get to VA in October or later.

You could join us going north if not too early. I believe ArcticTraveler heads north in August from Washington State.

That rig looks familiar! If you make it to Maine, Acadia is beautiful and the White Mountains all start up here. October is also the fair season, with Fryburg Fair being my favorite. I hope your adventures take you everywhere in North America!

You guys are quite the adventurers! Banf National Park in Canada (near Calgary) will have the most beautiful lakes in all of NA. The Upper Pennisula in MI has the National Seahore in Munising. Do a Kayak ride under the rock formations. Tour an old mining cave in Greenland, MI. This is near Copper Harbor, MI which is on a Pennisula that is part of the UP. Good luck and enjoy NA.

So cool!! What a bunch of dream trips!! I second KTMRIDER!! A socal campout would super cool!! Let's make it happen!!

We're in SLC and headed to NY in August, then returning a few weeks later.

You should try set aside a day for Letchworth State Park (Grand Canyon of the East), one of the nicest parks in the US.
Fun Hiking & biking trails (very scenic), Kayaking & Rafting, and if you fancy a night in an Inn you have to stay at the Glenn Iris Inn

Strategically placed so you can see the waterfalls, and sit outside on the back patio while they bring you cocktails all day. Good food as well!

This link supplies a lot of info:

Since you'll be in the area I'd also suggest taking the Mt. Washington Cog Railway to the top of the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Excellent hiking from the top with outstanding views! It's as good as the Durango/Silverton ride in Colorado! Lot of scenic hiking trails at the top.

Letchworth and Stony Brook are already on the list.

The Cog would be a great option, but farther from where we'll be staying. Thanks for the tip.

Also hoping to hit the Sterling Renaissance Festival
