What about adding shaft collars to penthouse ceiling bars?

My penthouse top sometimes likes to shift sideways, such that I need to push it back to center to get it to properly close again. I notice that the ceiling bars are sticking out of the ceiling bar holder more on one side than the other, and if I try to lower the top like this, the upstairs bed won't land properly coming down.

I notice it more with my new van with its manual top. I presume this is pretty common.

What I'm wondering -- and I haven't heard of anyone doing this -- is why not add some kind of shaft collars to the penthouse bars where they go through the ceiling bar holder? (What are those ceiling bar holder thingies called?)

I would think that a shaft collar on either side of the ceiling bar holder should stop penthouse lateral movement. Something like these:

Anyone try this, or hear of someone doing it?
