Good morning folks, I hope your all doing well!

I want to be able to swap wheels between my tandem trailer and the Van so that I only need one spare.
I'm currently running 17" rims with old LTX 265/70/17s right now, but thinking I need to switch to 16" E350 rims part #29576 with 1/4" positive offset allowing me to use these rims on the trailer as well.

The rims I do find, the load rating's are all over. This one is only 2,850 lbs, but Ive seen 16" steel rims rated as high as 4000 lbs.

Where can I buy the good strong ones?

Thanks!

16” 265 10 ply tires are getting hard to find.

You could keep the wheels and tires you have now, and run 235/85r16 on the trailer and as your spare, since they are all the same height.

Best source for wheels is probably QuadVan, since they are still converting lots of new Economine SRW cutaways. But then again, shipping might be cost prohibitive.

Yes, I’d check with any of the upfitters or econoline 4X4 converters to find a set of stock steel rims.
A bit far from you but check with Colorado campervan or timberline vans. Check Craigslist or local yard too

I have a set of 5 (with mistmatched highway tires) that I haven't posted up for sale, but I have no use for them.

I'll check locally as well as someone is always selling OEM steelies here for ~$25 each or something like that. There are a ton of upfitters in my area so getting them isn't a problem.

That said, getting them to Iowa (depending on where you are may not be super cheap), If I wasn't laid up for the next few months I'd offer to drive them up.

Do we have enough SMB people to relay them up there? lol

Now that's great idea----we could test our claims to help when ever possible. :)

I'll bet if we put the word out a relay from A to B was being organized there'd be some possible action. Maybe a separate thread?

For some reason this idea intrigues me---all the way in Ohio. :)

I mean if the OP wants them I'll take them to get dismounted.

As for a relay.... I'm still relatively new to the forum so I'm not sure where/who travels to even ask. But I/We could start a post and try to figure it out.

I've done similar things on other forums for wheels, trunks, braces and other large/heavy items that simply don't may sense to ship.

There are also services like forward air and others that will buy space available freight on planes and get things from airport to airport.

Haha..

Your guys are to much! Thanks!

But were talking about rims I could buy at the junkyard and have blasted and painted.

In fact, I think I already have four out on my bugout property.

Honestly, I'm still trying to make a decision if I want to pursue only carrying one spare.. From what Ive read, it's a thing the military did extensively so they could swap out identical wheels and NDTs with the tow vehicle if needed.

The indecision comes mainly from the fact I want AT tires, but not sure if thats appropriate for the trailer..
