The Remote display panel on my Xantrex Prosine 2.0 inverter shows memory fault. Can’t seem to find one for sale anymore so hoping someone may have one laying around they don’t need.

Also open to someone local letting me swing by and me hooking their panel up to my inverter so I can set it to work without the panel.
Thanks
Eric

Can’t you just unplug the remote and use the controls on the inverter itself? Most inverters are designed to work airborne remote as usually it’s an option.

Thanks for the reply. The Prosine 2.0 has that option but you have to have activated it manually through the remote. I have tried inverting with something plugged in but it didn’t work. The previous owner had the unit repaired at one point but the panel is bad so I can’t confirm it works and panels seem to be hard to come by.

Bump. Still looking to buy a used panel or use someone’s to set the settings on mine.
Thanks

I assume you looked on EBay? I found a panel for my older Trace Engineering (aka Xantrex) on there something years ago.

Yes I have been watching eBay and Craigslist. A few complete non-working units with the panel have been for sale but haven’t received a response when asking if they would sell just the panel and if the panel works.
Thanks

Bump...still looking for a panel. Or someone that has one in so cal we can hook to mine to see if it works and change settings to manual no panel needed.
Thanks
Eric

Eric did you try replacing the data cable first?

Hi Dave,
I did try the cable from my Magnum 2000 unit I installed in my last van and it still showed the same error. I had a receipt that showed the previous owner had it fixed once and I think replaced at one time so hoping it works but that panel is hard to find for some reason. Surprising since so many were sold.
Thanks for the idea.
Eric

Same problem, can we work together?

Hi KTM Rider

I've got the same panel with the same error, maybe this is a common failure for these and that's why they are hard to find.

I repair electronics for a living so I think I know what's wrong. There is a small memory IC right beside the CPU that I think is corrupted. I removed mine, copied it's contents to a brand new IC and soldered it onto the board but got the same fault. I think if I could get a hold of a working unit and read the memory IC on it I could write it to mine and yours and get them working again.

You mentioned that you had seen Prosine 2.0s for sale, if you can send me links I'll buy one of them and try my theory out, if it works on mine I can fix yours as well.

Thanks Jeff. I will keep an eye out for one. I often see them listed in boating sections.

Just to add to this. What I need to copy doesn't destroy or alter the panel at all. I don't need to solder to it or remove anything, I just need to clip onto an IC and read it. So... if anyone has a panel I could borrow for a day that would work too.

Since I'm new here and don't know anything about a penthouse bed I'm going to assume RulerZigzag is talking to KTMRIDER. :)

Let me know if you've gotten a repair I picked up a prosine 2.0 for 20 bucks. I'm surprised they still go for as much as they do. I'd love to see if there's a fix

I forgot about this. I had picked up a used inverter with working panel from a member here but haven’t made time to mess with it. My current van has an inverter. I was planning to hook it to my original inverter and set it up so it doesn’t need a panel. Then maybe build a couple portable power stations for random garage/emergency use.

I also didn’t remember reading Jeff’s offer to try and read the memory. Jeff are you still interested in trying that? Sorry I can’t recall if I responded.

What did you just buy for $20 the panel or an inverter with no panel/non-working panel?

I'm gonna send the panel to someone that repairs these to get the panel fixed I'll try to get a chip programmer and pull the firmware off the panel and list the chip part number so future people can repair their panels. I'll also try to pull the firmware of the inverter itself as well. I gotta get some money first to send the unit in and get that done I was told 200 for panel repair and about 30 for shipping.
