Hey SMBers,

Anja and I got married April 3 in Bishop, CA (picasaweb.google.com/anjakenwedding) and starting July 9th we plan to drive to my brothers house in Boulder starting our year long honeymoon. July through November we'll be living out of our SMB and traveling and then going internationally. The focus of our travels will be seeing family, friends, and climbing trips which require time and conditioning but often little money. These plans are anything but certain at this point but it may go something like this:

July Colorado/Wyoming (Anja's brother lives in Jackson, Wy)
August Wyoming/Montana/Banff/Idaho
September Yosemite/Mt Shasta (friends weddings and climb El Cap)
October Yosemite/Vegas climbing area (Red Rocks)/Eastern Utah climbing area (Indian Creek)
November Indian Creek/Vermont (Anja's family)/Pennsylvania (Anja's grandma)
December Boulder (Anja will stay in Vermont)
January Florida Keys (my Aunt's house)/Thailand (29 days) (Railey and Ton Sai)
February Thailand/Vietnam (21 days) (Ha Long Bay)
March China (14 days) (Yangshuo)/ Nepal (25 days) (Annapurna Circuit)
April Turkey (7 days) (Antalya and Geryikbayin)/Greece (21 days) (Kalymnos - Mediterranean climbing island)
May Sicly (7 days), Sardinia (9 days) (Ogliastra)
June Croatia (7 days), Italy (14 days) (the Dolomites)

I know California, Southern Utah, and Southern Colorado fairly well but much of our time in the SMB will be spent in Wyoming, Montana, Banff, and Idaho so if anyone has tips for those areas let me know? Keep in mind our rig is only 2wd. Also if anyone up for a visit from some dirtbag climbers and wants to offer up a parking spot for a night anywhere that we could plugin and crashout for the night that would be awesome to.

Last, while we are traveling we would LOVE it if people came out and meet us for the weekend or a longer time in the States or internationally. Bring booze and firefood. ;) One of the highlights of our 2007 month long trip to Thailand (kathailand.blogspot.com) was our 5 friends who meet up with us on that trip. We will be blogging this trip at kagetavan.blogspot.com so I you want to hear about our travels add the blog to your favorites list. Let me know if you'd be interested in meeting up with us anywhere.

Cheers!
Ken and Anja

Hey Ken,
Congratulations to you and Anja!
Your honeymoon is going to be amazing. I look forward to reading your trip reports from the road.

Rifle City Park is great although it's infested with dirtbag climbers... you have to pay to get in, but if you drive out the backside it turns into BLM land with great free camping, and 2wd is no problem, so you can camp for free and climb all day... if that's your sort of thing.

We're in Franktown and would be interested in trying to get together some day or evening. PM me some contact info and we can see if any time meshes up.

So we have been out traveling. Lots of details at kagetavan.blogspot.com but the basics:
-LA to Boulder, CO drive
-Boulder to Rushmore to Stirgus to Devil's Tower to Yellowstone to Galliton Canyon MT to Jackson, WY (Sorry I missed bettyford) and back to Boulder.
-Then left the rig for a week in Boulder and went to the Cayman Island.
-Boulder to Yosemite to Truckee, CA for some repairs to Mt Shasta for a wedding now back in Truckee and planning to head to Salt Lake City for a week or so.

Photos for upload or image reference are not agreeing with me at the moment so you'll just have to checkout the blog or the hyperlinks. Sorry.

Great pictures! You guys are doing it right.

Our family was at Devils tower with our van, fixing into a camper eventually, this past summer. Not to rock climb though. We took the RUGGED asphalt trail around. But four kids does that to you.

Seriously, if you want to see Washington's Olympic Mountains you could park at our house as a jumping off point. Some GREAT hikes there in the rain forest. But as the name indicates it is not always the best weather, but BEAUTIFUL! we do a lot of dawg route climbing there.
