Big Joe: Well, then, why the hell aren't you up there helping them?
Oddball: [chuckles] I only ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em work.

Hey Grumpy, I did some more thinking.

You would probably just be better off selling it super cheap to someone on the forum. Actually, wait... Maybe just giving it away would be easier so you didn't have to go through the hassle.

If you want I can just go ahead and take it from you...

I reckon I'll keep that in mind... Appreciate the selfless offer!

You already have one. Are you looking of this and hers?

Ha ha no, I was just being smart. My wife just got a new 3.5l Eco F150. I doubt she would want to trade that for a van.

That's a big PITA for those of us with factory TPMS sensors......can these pressures be set lower in the BCM or wherever the processor is easily?

When my rears fall much below 85 PSI the light comes on.....

We have not been able to reset the TPMS pressure threshold - I believe it is 60 on the rear of your van.

That is one thing that is cool about the Sprinter, you can set the threshold where you want it and it reports a decline from there.

Get used to the light... or black tape.

It can be done with Ford's IDS software but there's a trick...

When a module is new and has not been configured, you have a large range of values for the tire pressure sensor minimum level (when the pressure is low enough to trigger the dash light). Once it is set (like at the factory with the original tires on it), you can no longer select a lower value, only higher values.

The trick is to force the module into a reset, re-enter the as-built data manually and then select your minimum value from the much longer list. If I remember correctly, values go down below 50 psi. It's been a while, can't remember specifically. For 2009+ vans, the module you're resetting is the Smart Junction Box. Not sure which module has that duty on earlier vans.

I've done it on the bench with a junkyard module configuration networked together. It can be done but since the IDS software is not the best interface, it might take a couple tries. You also need the "as-built" data for the original module (you can download the file from a motorcraft website...don't have the link handy at the moment).

If there is an aftermarket tuner out there that can do it, it would be much easier.

I've just gotten used to the light being on so I no longer even notice it.

I just got back from the first real drive after lowering inflation in my tires. I was using the door jamb numbers of 60 F & 80 R but took it down to 50 F & 65 R. This made a big difference in the amount of pogo effect I got after hitting dips in the highways. The ride was far better than at the original pressure I used. I still need to get weighed so I can determine the optimum pressure.
