So I'm guessing Wicked Mike isn't the business name? Or does my Googlefu just suck?

I'm pretty partial but Van Specialties all the way for me. Those guys have been doing these vans almost as long as anyone. Outside vans used to have them build them then he parted ways with one of their guys. I think they just landed preferred upfitter status with MB.

To say SMB, Outside van, or any of the 1-off guys are the same is like saying the interior of a Ford is the same as the interior from a BMW. Sure, they both have radios, AC, leather interior, but the difference comes in the workmanship. I think SMB is an immense value for what you get, but Outside van, and some of the other custom van makers that are expensive, have some pretty amazing workmanship. That Outside van might be spartan on the inside, but it's going to be extremely well done.

Workmanship has a huge spectrum of value to different people, though. Some people will spend 150k+ for a buildout, some will do it with the same amenities on 50k.

Earthroamer's workmanship is unreal. Their wiring looms are a work of art, but you pay for it, too.

The great thing is that there are many options to choose from spanning the spectrum from simple and cheap, to elaborate and expensive. There's a van for everyone!
