Re: Campground Etiquette

Hows this for rude:
Looking through binoculars and seeing somebody using your sites BBQ while your tents are set up and kitchen stuff is on the table. OK the BBQ belongs to the park, but someone using your site while you're gone? Just happened to a friend of mine.

I have one too, picked it up from an empty campsite.

Hopefully not a momentarily empty campsite?

Re: Campground Etiquette

Last year in Colorado I left the site to go for a drive and left behind a chair and my leveling blocks so I could just pull in right back where I knew it was level. The rest is obvious; when I got back the blocks were gone!

I did have the chair to sit and wonder where to buy new blocks..... Lesson! ..Don’t leave it behind unless you expect to replace it...

Re: Campground Etiquette

We've never had a problem clipping a "Campsite Occupied" sign to the post where the receipt goes. (I have our sign glued to a piece of foam core so that it doesn't flap in the wind.) However, in Colorado one time, the campground hosts insisted that something be left at the site when we weren't there...the sign wasn't enough for them. We don't care inexpensive camp chairs so we used the tablecloth method. Be sure and have some rope to secure the table cloth to the table in case of a breeze...

Yeh, I have one of those signs, a chair, 2 poles with rope, a tablecloth, and a kid's scalp! grin.

Re: Campground Etiquette

Found out bungee cords work great for holding down the table cloth....1 on each end of the table.
