I did the same thing, when you buy lightforce they ship them with plain clear covers witch are useless compared to the combo lenses you purchase separately. You can buy covers at.

I completely forgot about the clear covers I have. That, and I have plenty of black spray paint. You just saved me $40-$50. That's worth at least a beer or two (non twist off) next time I see you.

Re: Off Road Lights
Well, the ticket is not going to hurt you as much as the garbage you eat, but seriously, what is the reason for this stupid ruling? Next time I pass thru Julian, I'm going to cover my lights with dirty, and I mean really dirty, underwear with rubberbands, and hope for an encounter.

Re: Off Road Lights
Any particular reason to paint the inside, vs. the outside? Just curious. I'll probably paint both the inside and outside, just because...

Re: Off Road Lights
Maybe because when you spray off all the bugs the paint comes off? That's what is happening to my covers.

Re: Off Road Lights
In tests done on our Plastic products over the last 35 years the only paint that adheres to Plastic's other that the Urethane based materials such as those used on front bumpers etc. ,
we have found that KRYLON Fusion is the longest lasting . This is in part due to it's ability to expand and contract through the course of the days cool/warm/cool cycles , it also seems to have decent Ultra Violet resistance so fading is not a problem . Clean excess oil , polish off with Isopropyl Alcohol , lightly scuff surface surface and apply with 2 to 3 light coats . Note Do Not Clean Plastic With Keytone based Solvents (Acetone/ MEK) unless you are sure that the material that you are painting is resistant to these solvents . Fusion can be purchased in the Wal Mart Paint section as well as other outlets that carry Krylon paint products .

Re: Off Road Lights
I ws goin to buy Krylon Fusion, but they didn't carry it at Home Depot, where I was at the time, so I bought another brand of spray paint intended for plastic. Hopefully will get to this easy project this weekend.

Re: Off Road Lights
Herb ,
RustOleum Plastic paint is another brand that came out recently , our Canadian facility is currently testing it for it's adhesion properties and I understand that it has worked well in all of our accelerated testing so far with the exception of available colors (11) , this should change as the company becomes more in tune with consumer needs . I have not personally used the new PLASTIC PAINT , but RustOleum has always been a great exterior paint line and should be fine for the covering of light lovers .
