Sportsmobiler's Anthem

I don't know about you, but I have to go camping regularly to renew my energy and spirit. If I don't get out into the fresh air and beauties of nature I become completely drained. Just one night out under the stars can refresh my soul and keep me going.

I just bought the Winter Poem CD by Secret Garden that has a song on it called "Powered by Nature." When my wife heard it for the first time she turned to me and said, "That's you!. This song describes you perfectly." She is right.

Actually, I think the words of this song may describe a lot of Sportsmobile owners. Perhaps it is our anthem. Here are the words:

I知 powered by nature
Weak, but strong I stand
before the force of elements
of this wild and wondrous land.
I知 powered by nature,
And the mystery it hides
the rain and sun encircles
the synthesis of life.

I知 powered by the miracle
of the newborn, budding rose
to see that spring of bloom
and everything that grows.
I知 powered by the forest
walking in the green,
where I can smell the earth
and drink the water, clean.

I知 powered by rivers
running wild, running free
from the highest mountain
down to the deep, blue sea.
I知 powered by the ocean
that calls my yearning heart
to reach for the horizon
far beyond the far.

I知 powered by snow
that covers all in white
that lets summer sleep
and slumber through the night.
I知 powered by darkness
in the long winter nights
when I see a glimpse
of the flaring Northern lights.

I知 powered by stars
on the endless sky
light years from the earth
but closer when I fly.
But even if I soar
in poems and songs
I must always return
to where my heart belongs.

I知 powered by moonlight
the eternal ebb and flow
The rhythm of the nature
running through my blood.
I知 powered by the seasons
winter, spring, summer, and fall
the ever-changing colors
and the beauty of them all.

I知 powered by sun
shining down on me
I知 like a flower
absorbing energy.
I知 powered by wind
blowing through my hair
I知 breathing life --
breathing clean, fresh air.

I知 powered by mountains
they let me feel so small
so I can seize the wonder
and the greatness of it all.
I know I知 not alone
here on planet Earth
I know I知 a part
of God痴 great universe.

Re: Sportsmobiler's Anthem

Quote from the movie Iron Lady (Margaret Thatcher) that inspires me.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.

The sound of a diesel engine also stirs my soul.

Re: Sportsmobiler's Anthem

One of my doctors told me yesterday I need to get outside more often for some fresh air. He actually wrote me a prescription saying I must go camping two times per month. Now if he could just give me a pill that would make me physically well enough to do so! It's been a while since I've been out there.

Re: Sportsmobiler's Anthem

I knew it was only a matter of time before someone made a video of this song. Here it is:

Re: Sportsmobiler's Anthem

All them trucks and cars doin' forty,
Best get out 'the way of my Sporty,
When I hit the road in the Sporty with the penthouse on top!

Roar that engine, nary a flutter
When I drive this high steppin' strutter.
Nosey pokes'll peek thru' their shutters and their eyes will pop!

The wheels are dipped, the Loncoin's brown,
The upholstery's genuine pleather,
With naugahyde curtains y' can roll right down,
In case there's a change in the weather.

Two bright Hellas winkin' and blinkin',
Ain't no finer rig I'm a-thinkin'
You can keep your rig if you're thinkin' that I'd care to swap
Fer that big, shiny Sporty with the penthouse on the top!

Re: Sportsmobiler's Anthem

@mac - I really like that. I've gone back and read it several times to let it all sink in.

Thank you for posting it.
