I drove with a similar repair multiple 1000km half of it offroad with low tire pressure. It was leaking always minimal (you only saw it with soapy water spray on it) but it last very good.
In that shown case i only drove about 300mls and than got new tires.

Damn I miss Africa.

Drove/ferried the Hebrides Islands in Scotland earlier this year in a rental. Got a small nail in the center of the tire (not sidewall), and learned that the U.K. doesn't allow exterior patches, patch must be made from the inside.

Wouldn't have been a problem if the rental company had provided a key for the wheel locks..

Did I mention I miss Africa?
