Query: Interest in Spring East Coast Owners Rally

I like it and assuming I can get off work I'll be there. I think the $95 extra for the PP is worth it but I see no need for the hand washing station. Most of us have plumbing systems/onboard water, right?

TLG I've been off the radar here but THANKS for your planning efforts! Sounds like a great time I LOVE that area and definitely something to look forward to...lush green trees, blue skies, fish splashing, birds chirping after the freezing rain/snow grey days we've got here now.

Do you need help with anything, I can pitch in after holiday?

On the porta jon I won't use it so don't see a need for the $90+ (my 2 cents) unless it's a group need then sure

Lurkers indeed!! Sounds like there are plenty of us stealth outliers East of the Mississippi - will be fantastic to meet people!

Well I'm not a big drinker, that's one reason I like bourbon

I'm good with the costs. I think a portajon will get used and I'll contribute (money, I mean ). I don't think we need the hand washing station either.

Annie,

I'm about 2 hours west of Georgetown. If you are asking if I could pick something up from TruckFridge and deliver to this gathering than the answer is yes if it isn't too big, but one challenge is I may actually already be somewhere else when this event occurs so I might have to carry it around before the event.

The portajon is mandatory. I completely understood the concern about folks using the natural facilities. If we get enough people the additional portajon cost should be negligible. We may be able to opt out of the hand washing station. I'll check during our next meeting.

Are there any nearby established campgrounds that we could use instead? National Forest or something? I appreciate the legwork, but not super-keen on camping in an open field for the weekend. We do all our cooking, etc., outside so it's nice to have a picnic table. But maybe that's the only way to accommodate a bunch of vans easily...

Brian,
Sherando Lake Recreational Area is a National Forest campground that's nearby. An electric site with picnic table goes for $25.00. There's no way to guarantee we'd all be in the same campground loop. The campground is really nice but is isolated. Devils Backbone basecamp is relatively new and has a good layout. Restaurant does breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The video below is an aerial overview. When the video starts, the camping field is just off screen and hidden behind a treeline.

Being a a self contained traveler (port potti in van etc) being the reason I mentioned I won't use- no worries. I imagine we'd be an unusual group to them if ALL of us are self contained. If a facility fee is required (ie porta Jon) and it's a group split, that is fine, I'll pay my share.

$60-70 for weekend is about my limit but WORTH IT for a forum meet up!
