Trip Report Rodman Mountain Petroglyphs

We finally had a chance to focus on finding the Petroglyphs in the Rodman Mountains over the long weekend. This may not sound ground breaking, but those that know about the location will confirm they are quite tricky to track down. I believe this is mostly on purpose to keep people away from the area as much as possible to preserve what is left of the 10,000 year old Native Indian rock carvings. If you haven't been to the area and need a solid destination full of history, this is for you. Below is a link to the site:

Rodman Mountains Petroglyphs, a digital photo tour.

We ended up running about 150 miles offroad during the trip in two days, mostly at high speed. We were also able to melt the logo on a temporary Bilstein shock from the rough terrain and high speed. Safe to say these aren't California prerunner approved kit for heavy vehicles!

Next trip installment will be a run from Afton Canyon/Mojave Road down to the Amboy Crater for more history and geographical observation!
