I've been thinking of doing the White rim Trail in Canyonlands NP. I've read that it can take 2 or 3 days to complete and reservations for campsites are required. Not having done it before and not knowing how far one can get in a day makes it kind of hard to reserve a particualr site.
If any of you have been there and care to provide some insight I would appreciate it.
What 's a good time of year?[I'm thinking Oct.] Good campsites? do's and don'ts.
I drove the White Rim Road in my SMB in April '08. Yes, I highly recommend it! As a photographer, I wanted to spend some time in the area, so we camped at two spots along the 100 mile road. Reservations are very required. There are only a few places that require real correct technique to make it up the grades. And there are a million places to stop and hike around the spectacular scenery.

Bob, I think were were required to make them at least two weeks ahead. But, once you have made some, you can often change the dates right at the visitor center when you get there. They're happy to work with you if you went through the original procedure first.
