Very keen observation.

How did you work around all those dang "L brackets" that Sportsmobile screwed into the cabinet openings? Seems like you either 1) Didn't have the same installer I did 2) Removed the offending "L" brackets and reinforced the cabinet sides some other way or 3) Designed "custom" slide shims with dadoed out areas where the dang "L" brackets are in the way and mounted your slides to these shims. Any advice on how to tackle this?
Steve, the tolerances on different drawers vary of course but I have gotten around this issue by removing the round head screws and replacing with a flat/flush head screws. It was very tight but did work. Depending on whether the L brackets you have are the straight hole or pilot hole type (angled hole to accept a flat/flush head screw) you might have to replace those too.

Unfortunately It seems like most of the L brackets SMB used, which are of good quality, are the standard or straight hole variety, so not as easy to get a screw head flush with the bracket.

Thanks for the input 86Scotty . I've got the straight hole versions, so I'll try to countersink the holes and utilize some flush head screws. Looks like I'll be utilizing some form of spacer along the cabinet sides to bring the slides flush with the "L" bracket. I just can't let that extra space behind the existing drawer(s) go to waste and my particular vintage van has one of those cheep plastic drawers located above the refrigerator that's just not right.
