I don't know. I have been using a portable DVD or laptop as my monitor but they don't let extreme side angle viewing possible...at least mine don't. What I'd like is a low amp draw monitor/blu-ray player combo that is sized about like Ron's that will also play DVD's. For my use the monitor must be able to handle rough off road travel. Being I use the monitor while running solo, I haven't done much to change what I'm using and continue to pull out my little 10" DVD player but I'd love to have a built in system that doesn't require set up and tear down. A flip down would work but really I'd need to have more than one which is costly for the amount of use the system would get.

Thanks, That is what I have been doing for weeks. I finally purchased one from Adorama.
Pyle PLVWR1752 18.5-Inch Wide-Screen TFT LCD Roof Mount Video Monitor. $200

They are out of stock right now, but I should have it in a week or so. I will let you all know how it turns out. Not that much money and most seem to like it.
Thanks all!

Re: Flip Down Monitor Questions

One thing I was thinking about doing if/when I put one in, was to get a piece of matching headliner fabric and cut it to extend over the monitor when it is closed. I figure some pieces of Velcro on the piece would allow it to stick to the existing headliner enough to effectively camouflage the monitor to all but the most prying eyes.

Re: Flip Down Monitor Questions

Wow Skyrat, that's nice. I'd love to have that on a slide mount of some type. I'd also like to hear how well you can see the picture at off angles. Great price too.
Most of those are made for truckers and don't have a huge draw off the 12v system like typical monitors have.
