Someone else will know for sure, but I'm almost positive this is an aftermarket added turbo. I'll bet that's what the extra breathing is for. The Power Stroke wasn't around, at least in the van, in 1994. Maybe not in any of them. It's still the same 7.3 otherwise I think so parts availability should certainly be no problem.

The Hypermax is definitely an aftermarket turbo to the 6.9/7.3 IDI diesels. Just so everyone knows, the pre-1994.5 7.3 (and earlier 6.9 for that matter) diesels are of a completely different design (IDI = InDirect Injection) than the 1994.5+ 7.3 Powerstroke (Direct Injection engine). This 7.3 IDI has absolutely zero electronics (other than transmission) and can run off of a single wire that keeps the fuel shutoff solenoid open! The IDI's have a pretty decent following and are pretty robust engines.

Eric - you are spot on with modernization. A little black T-molding and a billet grill would be cheap and go a long way!

If that rig was clean and tight, I don't think the price is too far off for someone looking for that exact setup.

Well that's the question. I was assuming this was 7.3 Powerstroke DI from 94.5, not the earlier totally unrelated engine. But maybe it is the IDI one.

Turns out I assumed wrong. This is the older IDI 7.3 with new turbo installed in 2014.

That vintage would have 2" square tube arms with the shock mount welded to the upper arm - I've never seen them crack like the "C" Channel arms do.

Seems like a nice SMB - I just never know what these things are worth.
Well, thanks Ramsey! You taught me something. I have the square boxed arms like this one seems to, and I thought they were the ones that cracked. I've always wondered what people meant by the C-shaped arms that crack because I've never seen any C-shaped Quigley arms. Good to know I have the lesser of two evils at least!

You don't think that's fair for a 7.3 with a decent floor plan? Just curious, not being argumentative.

Hi 86Scotty, no idea on the fairness of the price, seems the pricing is all over the board on these things. I think it is just amazing how a 20+ year old van can bring $25,000 which is awsome. It all seems to be based on affordability and price point.
